Taking Ground in the Strip Club

Tonight was the night I’ve been waiting for at the strip club! Hallelujah!! Something was different. Very different. I could feel it.

There was a young woman on our team I haven’t met before. She’s only 26, works at a human trafficking recovery center where she trains the canine unit, and evangelizes outside abortion clinics in her spare time. We definitely hit it off!

When she, Carolyn, and I prayed before going in, something was different in the atmosphere. We were taking ground. I just knew it.

Inside, Carolyn was ministering to a woman by the bar for a while, so B and I went into the dressing room. And let me tell you! Those girls were hungry for Jesus tonight!! Hungry!!

Two women I regularly talk with gave me big hugs and one was telling B how much I’ve changed her life by sharing the Gospel with her.

Then she told us excitedly that she has a job interview on Tuesday at a nursing home.

She said, “I’m so ready to be outta here! I’d rather be wiping butts than watching women shake their butts!”

And, she was ready for prayer!! She was begging for prayer.

As we huddled up to prayer for her, she called the other girl over and said, “You gotta get in on this. When this woman prays, you take all you can get. You want her to lay hands on you! It’s powerful!”

Praise God!!

The other girl was M. M knows me very well. She’s my girl I’ve ministered to at the hotel. And, she knows she’s my girl, so she gave me a look like a daughter would give a mother.

M gave her life to Christ a while back, but the enemy has been after her and she’s been very resistant lately. It’s been hard to get any depth with her like I did before. She needs deliverance.

However, she got up and the four of us circled up, holding hands. As I prayed over both of them, a couple other girls entered and I carried on. Those who know me know I don’t do short prayers.

The other girls in the room were very polite and quiet and as I continued praying, I saw them drawn to us. When we finished, one was standing near us with her arms outstretched, genuinely hoping to catch the fire. Thank you, Jesus!

After they all left, B and I were alone in the dressing room, sweating and rejoicing over what just happened.

Back out on the floor, we sat down and chatted while Carolyn was sharing the Gospel for a long time with a man at the bar.

God was moving in that strip club tonight! I’m so glad I went out when I had a million excuses not to.

I’m grateful for the voice that came in my head, as I was laying in bed tired and groggy after a nap saying, “You said SEND ME, remember?” Yep, I remember. So, I jumped up and was out the door in ten minutes flat.

I’m grateful for my new evangelist friend tonight. I see us lighting more fires together.

And, I’m grateful for all my beautiful intercessors, who were fervently praying over this evening. I could feel the covering!

We can’t give up! We can’t stop making waves!

It’s one prayer at a time, one conversation at a time, one soul at a time, one yearning for God at a time.

It’s doing what we are all commissioned to do as believers…GO OUT and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The world is so wicked and evil that sometimes it feels like there’s nothing we can do. However, there is so much we CAN do. So much.

It just takes one person saying, “Send me, Lord.”
